ECBG Stallion Approval

List of Approved Stallions

Stallions will be approved based on their meeting one of the following:

- RECOGNIZED Breed Registry’s approval

- Performance in sport

- Quality offspring

AND

The Stallion Owner’s current membership status with the ECBG

ECBG Policy on Stallion Approvals:

     Good stallions are not necessarily just those that exit a plane at one point in their lifetime. Many high quality stallions are competing and breeding here on the East Coast, having been born here on American soil. The ECBG Board will consider each stallion and his competition record (and any offspring) before eliminating him from consideration for the roster. A foreign bred or approval does not guarantee or restrict a stallion, nor does a North American birth.

     The ECBG encourages Stallion owners who have stallions of warmblood descent to submit their application to our Roster, as well as stallions that have several generations of American breeding behind them. Stallions with proven performance records are also encouraged to apply to the ECBG for approval. Each stallion will have to stand on his own merits and the decision of the ECBG is final.

     The ECBG Board maintains a position that Draft blood limits the performance capabilities of offspring. Therefore, stallions possessing more than 1/8^th Draft in their pedigree are discouraged from applying for approval. The ECBG Board asks members to respect this policy and to provide accurate/verifiable pedigrees with their stallion information.

     Stallion owners will be asked to fill out a Stallion Form and provide verification of Pedigree and licensing (if applicable). For example, photocopies of a breeding license and registration papers are acceptable. These pedigrees/licenses will be verified with each Breed Registry before a stallion is added to the ECBG list.

     Deceased stallions that are available through Frozen Semen will be allowed to join our roster at a reduced cost to the Owner. Stallion owners please contact us directly to discuss the fees.

     If you would like to have your stallion considered for approval, please fill out and submit our online Stallion Approval Form. Once approved there will be a slight lag before a stallion is added to the roster – Registration / licensing approval must be verified from the parent registry. Please bear with us during this time.
