ECBG Objectives and Goals

The East Coast Breeders Group strives to do the following:

To form an organization and network of breeders, trainers and competitors producing quality stock for breeding and sport competition. In doing so, this network would allow potential buyers access to numerous farms to view stock in a single journey and members’ access to joint ventures in advertising and sales. The joining together of members (for advertising purposes) will help to gain recognition by securing larger advertising space at a lower cost to the participants.

Using the close knit equine community on the East Coast, the ECBG endeavors to support one another and generate business through cooperation. For example, by having member links on one another’s websites, we will allow potential buyers to view multiple horses in a local area through web related advertising (photographs, text and video). This ‘referral system’ increases the odds of a local equine sale, thereby stimulating the local economy and establishing a reputation for high ethical standards amongst our members.

We will maintain a discussion forum for our Members, where breeders can discuss goals, competition results and current news.

Through our website, the ECBG will have a Nursery page and Ringside News page so that our Members will be able to share the newest additions, inspection results and competition news.

Our Stallion owners will be encouraged to donate services to the Stallion Service Auction and receive promotional support in return at a reduced cost in major publications and local advertising venues.

Top 5 Reasons to join the East Coast Breeders Group:

     As a group we can:

          1. Assist one another in the promotion, sales and marketing of

              members’ horses/ponies.

          2. Educate members on breeding standards and goals pertinent to their

chosen discipline(s) in their chosen registries.

          3. The reduction of the financial burden of advertising materials.

          4. Increase the camaraderie and ethical cooperation between local

breeders so as to operate as an amicable unit.

          5. Join an East Coast based network allowing for quality advertising

with fair and moral principals in place to ensure prosperous

financial dealings within our member base. Truthfulness and

integrity in all ECBG members dealings are paramount.

The East Coast Breeders Group has goals that go beyond the next breeding and foaling season in that we are trying to establish a cooperative and supportive network between our members. The connections that will be established between breeders, owners, trainers and competitors will benefit those who choose to participate in this effort. By maintaining amicable relations in this broad network, breeders will be able to advertise at a reduced cost therefore conserving their economic resources. These same networking connections will provide trainers access to the breeders high quality stock. We encourage our members to be proactive and participate in sport and breeding competition by rewarding and recognizing those who do so.

With an eye to the future, the ECBG looks forward to adding the following:

          - Annual Stallion Service Auction

          - Foal Futurity through the Inspection Results Competition

          - National Advertising for our members

          - Educational Seminars for members

          - ECBG Year End Awards

          - Class sponsorship at East Coast competitions
